What We Believe

We believe the Bible is God's written revelation to man and is divinely inspired.

We believe there is but one true and living God; infinite, all-knowing, perfect in all His attributes, one in essence, existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, all deserving of our worship and obedience.

We believe God the Father orders and dispenses all things according to His grace and purpose. He is the Creator of all things, ruler and sovereign in creation, providence, and redemption.

We believe God the Son is Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity. Born of a virgin, He is fully God and fully man. Living a sinless and perfectly obedient life, Jesus did what Adam failed to do. Thus making Him the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. Jesus accomplished our redemption through the shedding of His blood and sacrificial death on the cross. On the third day after this death, Jesus Christ rose from the grave. In doing so, God confirmed the deity of His Son and gave proof that God accepted the atoning work of Christ. In the resurrection of Jesus, we are also guaranteed our future resurrection.

We believe God the Holy Spirit works to execute the divine will with relation to all mankind, His sovereign activity in creation, the incarnation, the written revelation, and in salvation. He administers gifts to the church. He glorifies Christ by implementing His work of redeeming the lost and building up believers in the faith.

We believe that man was created in the image of God originally free from sin. But because of Adam's sin of disobedience man lost his innocence, corrupting the entirety of creation including his descendants. Thus man incurred the penalty of spiritual and physical death, becoming subject to the wrath of God unable to recover himself.

We believe that salvation is wholly of God by grace on the sole basis of the redemption of Jesus Christ and His shed blood, not on the basis of human merit and works.

We believe that all who place their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed into the Holy Spirit and one united spiritual body, the church, the bride of Christ, of which Christ is the head. As such the purpose of the church is to glorify God by building itself up in the faith, by the instruction of the Word, by fellowship, by keeping the ordinances (baptism and the Lord's Supper), and by advancing and communicating the gospel to the entire world.

We believe angels fall into two categories: holy and fallen. Since they are created beings they should not be worshiped. Their only function is to serve God and worship Him.

We believe that Jesus Christ will return for His church and He will one day rule and reign in a New Heaven and Earth.
