180 Students
Leader: John Peralta

Welcome to 180!

We are the student ministry here at New Life. 180 is for students who are in 7th – 12th grade.

Our prayer is that the students who come here leave with a personal relationship with Jesus and a desire to serve Him always. We seek to reach out to students, build them up through discipleship, and send them out fully equipped and able to reproduce this incredible life change in others.

We would love to have you join us!

180 meets on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm and Sunday Mornings at 9:00 am here at the church.

180 Leaders

John Peralta

This is John Peralta one of our leaders here in 180. Originally from New York City, John now calls Benson home with his lovely wife Tiffani. Together they have two adorable kids, JP and Mya. John is a Physical Education teacher at Smith Middle School on Fort Huachuca. He enjoys weight lifting and all sports. John’s heart for students is clear to those he serves with. Not only does he love students, John loves the Lord with his whole heart and desires to see students come to know Jesus in a real and personal way, like he has.

Ray Vidal

Hi! I’m Ray Vidal, but the kids know me as “Mr. Ray.” I’m married to my wife Debbie and we have three daughters; Trisha, Melanie, and Raeanne. I have a passion to play games with the students and teach them about the love of Christ. My goal is for each student to grow in the knowledge of Jesus and to learn to walk and trust in Christ. I look at the youth group as a big church family and we try to teach love, support and encouragement to each other in everything we do.

One of my favorite verses is John 3:16 but I especially love the verses that follow, as they are very powerful (v. 17-18). They say, “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world thru him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” I love them because they tell you that Christ is the only way and we need to believe in him.

180 Trivia

Why the name 180 Student Ministry?

Our church’s key passage is Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Echoing our church’s prayer, we desire our students be transformed by God for God. When they encounter Him and surrender to Jesus Christ their lives should reflect this. They turn 180° and are now living their lives for Christ which is the complete opposite of what the world demands of them.
